Rise Against

Rise Against es una banda estadounidense de punk rock proveniente de Chicago, Illinois y formada en 1999 bajo el nombre de Transistor Revolt, la banda cambió su nombre a "Rise Against" en 2001 y lanzó su primer álbum, The Unraveling .
Sus miembros son partidarios de la filosofia del  straight edge de compromiso con la abstinencia en el consumo de alcohol y tabaco y demas drogas recreacionales asi como tambien la oposicion a la promiscuidad , cosa bastante atipica en las conductas sociales de las "estrellas" de rock y por demas interesante.
Su compromiso politico con la defensa de los bosques y contra la matanza de animales , ademas de apoyar abiertamente a Obama y declararse decididamente  contrarios a Bush.
